Consignment 101

Everything you need to know to get started selling your gently used clothing and accessories in a straightforward sustainable and stress free way. Please read carefully before consigning.

Item Condition & Presentation

All clothing must be clean, pressed, and on hangers. Items must be in new or like-new condition — no stains, pet hair, missing buttons, or odors. If the item comes from a smoking environment, we kindly ask that it be aired out or dry cleaned before consignment.

Consignment Period & Pricing

The standard consignment period is approximately 90 days.

  • Prices are set by What Goes Around (WGA).
  • Items are reduced by 50% after 60 days, and 75% on the final day.
  • You may pick up your items at any time — just notify us 24 hours in advance.

End-of-Term & Donations

After 90 days, unsold items are removed from the sales floor. If not picked up within 7 days, they will be donated to a local nonprofit. It is the consignor’s responsibility to track consignment dates.

Payouts & Store Credit

  • Items priced below $41 are bought outright for instant cash or store credit.
  • You receive 30% of the sale price on consigned items priced between $41 and $99.
  • You receive 40% of the sale price on consigned items priced at $100 or more.
  • Earnings are credited to your account as items sell.
  • Payouts are made in-store by check or electronically upon request.
  • Only one electronic payout is allowed every 30 days and includes a $2.50 processing fee.
  • You may use your account balance as store credit at any time.
  • Any unclaimed earnings after one year from the contract date become the property of WGA.

Buyer’s Fee

A buyer’s fee may be applied to each item, based on a sliding scale.

Final Terms

All items are consigned at the discretion of What Goes Around. We assume no responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged merchandise. All items are left at the consignor’s risk.

Donation Receipts

We offer itemized donation receipts in January for tax purposes, in partnership with the Albuquerque Assistance League. Learn more about the Assistance League by visiting their website.
